Jan Patrik Krasny was born in 1955. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1976-1982). Since his childhood he has been attracted by comics which he has published after 1989 in several magazines and newspapers.
The core of his work are illustrations. He has created more than 100 cover-pages of mainly sci-fi and fantasy books for various Czech publishers. Recently he has been devoted to computer graphics.
Except of artistic activities he devote time to studying of hermetic and transcendental philosophy. He is a vegetarian.
His works are exhibited in private collections and galleries within the Czech Republic and in abroad.
He's a member of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA).
He was nominated on the Czech Academy of Sci-fi, Fantasy and Horror Award in 1999 and 2000 .
He has won the European SF Society Award in category Best Artist in 2002.
